Why I built a free lead dashboard for Forminator and Contact Form 7
A travel agency was drowning in form submissions and priced out of a CRM. Here's why the answer was a small, free WordPress plugin instead of another tool.
The request sounded simple: a travel agency was getting a steady stream of enquiries through its website forms, and they were getting lost. Some were answered twice, some not at all, and nobody could say at a glance which enquiries had turned into bookings.
The usual answer is "get a CRM". For a small agency, that meant a monthly bill, a new tool for the team to learn, and an integration to keep alive. They were priced out before they started.
The problem was already inside WordPress
The enquiries were already landing in WordPress through Forminator and Contact Form 7. The data existed. What was missing was a way to treat each submission as a lead: something with a status, a history and an owner.
So instead of exporting the data somewhere else, the lab built the smallest thing that fixed it, right where the entries already lived.
What the plugin does
DevXpert Lead Dashboard turns Forminator and Contact Form 7 entries into trackable leads inside the WordPress admin:
- Statuses so the team can see what's new, in progress or closed
- Feedback notes on each lead, so context isn't lost between people
- CSV export for when the data does need to go somewhere else
No new login, no monthly fee, nothing extra to host.
Why it's free
Once it worked for one agency, it was obvious the same problem exists on thousands of small WordPress sites. So it went on the official WordPress.org directory as a free, open-source (GPL) plugin, where it's rated 5 stars.
WordPress itself was given to me for free. Giving a useful tool back to the same community felt like the right way to ship it.
Have something worth testing?
A client project, a plugin idea, or a "could we actually build this?" Bring it to the bench.
